Number two seed Jelena Jankovic has been knocked out at the quarter final stage of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.
Jankovic qualified for the WTA season ending championships in Doha thanks to Vera Zvonareva's defeat. Zvonareva was ranked number one for the tournament but was defeated in the second round by Tsvetana Pironkova and she was soon followed out of Moscow by number two seed Jankovic.
Jankovic was defeated 6-4 6-3 by Russia's Alisa Kleybanova in the quarter final in Moscow and the 20 year old will now face either Olga Govortsova of Belarus or her compatriot Vera Dushevina, who meet in their quarter final match later today, for a place in the semi final.
